Overview:

We are now looking for an eager candidate to join us as an apprentice.

You will have the opportunity to gain valuable skills, knowledge and experience as you complete a Level 3 IT Azure Cloud Support Specialist Apprenticeship.

Salary:

£16,000 - 18,000 per annum.

Duties: [will be to:]

  • Manage the resolution of 1st line support incidents, problems and requests within service and operational level agreements, working with 3rd parties and colleagues within the wider IT team where necessary.
  • Provide support & technical assistance to all customers, making an important contribution to overall IT service delivery and providing an excellent standard of service to all customers.
  • Provide onsite support at client sites, where required.

Main Responsibilities:

  • To analyse incidents and deliver technical resolutions as part of the IT support service, to contribute to an efficient and effective IT service desk.
  • Review tickets within Service Management systems using established priorities.
  • Man the helpdesk telephone system on a daily basis to resolve issues for end users.
  • Learn what notes and updates should be done on tickets.
  • The initial investigation and resolution of incidents relating to business and desktop applications, and subsequent referral to either senior support analysts, to 2nd/ 3rd line support, the application management team or a 3
  • Learn to deliver end user introductory training on IT systems.
  • Undertakes daily operational checks as defined and trained by the wider team.
  • Participate in projects as required.
  • Track customer IT assets using software tools.
  • Setup laptops, desktops and mobile devices for end users.
  • Deploy and install software to computers (both Windows and Mac)
  • Create new user accounts for starters and remove/suspend accounts for leavers
  • Perform password resets and help end users with profile and connectivity issues.
  • Allow and remove access to folders and email distribution lists.
  • Perform basic proactive tasks for backups and learn how to restore backups.
  • Perform Maintenance tasks on client devices via the Remote Monitoring and Maintenance system.
  • Perform antivirus and security scanning checks on client devices.
  • Carry out any other duties as required by the IT Management Team.

Entry requirements:

The entry requirements for this Azure Cloud Support Specialist programme are as follows:

  • 3 GCSE’s (or equivalent) at grades 4+ (A-C) in any subject
  • GCSE Maths and English (or equivalents) at grades 3+ (D or above)
  • Prospective apprentices must not hold an existing qualification at the same or higher level as this apprenticeship is in a similar subject. 

You may also have a combination of qualifications and experience which demonstrate the minimum foundation needed for the programme. In this instance you could still be considered for the programme. 

If you hold international equivalents of the above qualifications, at the time of your application you must be able to provide an official document that states how your international qualifications compare to the UK qualifications.
