Cyber Security is key to everyday life and one of the hottest career prospects in the world. If you decide to take your first step on the Cyber Security career ladder, we will support your decision by offering you an 18-month structured learning programme and real-world experience, leading to a L4 apprenticeship. Cyber Security protects our customers devices and data from loss, theft, and damage. From online banking to shopping, email and social media – join us and play your part in preventing cyber criminals getting hold of our customers data and devices.

What you'll be doing:

You will assist one of our National Security accounts in support of securing our client’s digital estate in Gloucestershire. We will provide you with the skills you need to build a foundation of knowledge, on which you can build and grow. Just a few things you could be helping us with include:

  • Identify cyber vulnerabilities in a system and ensure security is maintained.
  • Research and investigate attack techniques and recommend ways to defend against them.
  • Support cyber security risk assessments, security audits and incident management activities.
  • Develop information security policies to achieve security outcomes within a defined scope.
  • Author and present reports in the context of threat actors, cyber vulnerabilities, and mitigation.
  • Conduct cyber security risk assessments.

What we need from you:

Entry requirements:

  • Level 3 Software apprenticeship
  • OR A-Level in a STEM subject (in Technology and Maths fields only) and successful completion of our Aptitude Test
  • OR BTEC Diploma in IT and successful completion of our Aptitude Test
  • OR two years' experience in a relevant role and successful completion of our Aptitude Test

Clearance requirements:

Must be willing to undergo government security clearance.

Nationality requirements:

  • Must be a UK National or have a naturalisation certificate
  • Must have lived in the UK for 4 out of the last 5 year

Security Clearance: the successful apprentice will be working on Sopra Steria's National security accounts thus must be DV (Developed Vetting) eligible

Benefits:

A starting apprenticeship salary between £22,000 - £24,000 per annum. A fully funded Level 4 Apprenticeship in Cyber Security. 25 days annual leave with the choice to buy additional days, life assurance, pension, and generous flexible benefits fund. 3 paid volunteering days per year, and amazing wider career opportunities available on completion of apprenticeship.

QA’s apprenticeships are funded by the Education & Skills Funding Agency (ESFA), an executive agency of the Department for Education.
