Who you’ll be working for:

Altido Group are a small but well-established SaaS solution provider based in the heart of Cheltenham delivering business software and web services to SME organisations within the UK. Due to continued business growth, we have an opening for an apprentice within our technical services team.

You will also get to work independently (with our help of course!) on your own smaller projects and you will get to grow rapidly and get exposure to the different parts of our business.

You will be responsible for:

  • Working as part of team on larger client projects
  • Working alone but supervised on smaller client projects
  • Monitoring helpdesk tickets and logging issues received by email
  • Logging time spent on projects and helpdesk issues
  • Web development support

You will need the following skills:

  • Confident understanding of HTML, CSS and JavaScript
  • Good understanding of Node.js, Express.js, NPM
  • Good understanding of server-side programming (PHP, C#, Python, etc.)
  • Understanding of database querying (SQL)
  • Visual Basic an advantage due to some legacy applications
  • Excellent communication skills (written and spoken)
  • Hard working with a willingness to learn
  • Interest in technology and software development
  • Able to work in a team and alone
  • Able to break large problems down into smaller manageable parts

Entry requirements:

  • The learner must have completed a Level 3 Software Development Apprenticeship with QA or have an equivalent qualification with another training provider
  • OR an A-level in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) subject and a successful completion of our aptitude test
  • OR a BTEC Diploma in IT and a successful completion of our aptitude test
  • OR 2 years’ experience in a relevant role and successful completion of our aptitude test

You may also have a combination of qualifications and experience which demonstrate the minimum foundation needed for the programme. In this instance you could still be considered for the programme.

If you hold international equivalents of the above qualifications, at the time of your application you must be able to provide an official document that states how your international qualifications compare to the UK qualifications.

Working week:

37.5 hours per week, 9am – 5.30pm with 1 hour lunch break.

Future prospects:

There is an opportunity within the business for a full-time role after completion of the apprenticeship
