Vacancy Description:

We are looking for an ICT Support Apprentice that will deal with first line ICT support enquiries, learn about the Apple Mac and iPad deployment on site and carry out a variety of ICT administrative tasks. 
The successful applicant must have a good work ethic, a desire to learn and excellent communication skills. Some knowledge of computer software and hardware and a variety of internet applications, networks and operating systems is desirable. Enthusiasm for Apple technologies is also desirable. The ideal candidate will also have great troubleshooting abilities and attention to detail with excellent customer service and teamwork skills. 
This post is in an educational setting and so the successful applicant must be comfortable working in an environment which includes children of all ages. This post is dependent on successful PVG checks being carried out. The successful candidate will be fully trained and supported in order to carry out the duties outlined below and will have regular training sessions on site:

• Set up Windows and Mac computers and necessary peripheral devices 
• Check computer hardware (HDD, mouses, keyboards etc.) to ensure functionality
• Install and configure appropriate software and functions according to specifications
• Ensure security and privacy of networks and computer systems
• Produce guidance for users on how to operate new software and computer equipment
• Perform troubleshooting to diagnose and resolve problems (repair or replace parts, debugging etc.)
• Maintain records/logs of ICT requests
• Support Mac deployment on site through Apple Schools Manager
• Manage iPad deployment through a Mobile Device Management system
• Maintain and update the ICT asset register as required
