You will be responsible for:

Reporting to the IT manager, your main role will be that of the primary point of contact within the business to provide first line technical support for software and/or systems across all areas of the organisation in line with agreed SLA's.

Whilst being available to provide support to all users as required, this position would also offer the opportunity to be involved in a wide range of other key activities within the IT department including testing and installation of new software, provision of support for projects including backup solutions and systems security as well as being involved in the induction and training for new software or users as when required. Therefore, we require people with good communication and interpersonal skills.

You will need the following skills:

  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft operating systems including but not exclusive to Server 2012, 2016, 2019, Windows 10 and 11
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Products (Word, Excel, Access, Outlook, PowerPoint)
  • Domain environment
  • The ability to take non- technical instructions and convert to technical brief and deliver
  • Ability to learn new technologies and platforms at need
  • Confident communicator
  • Ability to work towards tight deadlines and delivering on-time
  • Positive attitude and flexible mind-set
  • Problem solving skills
  • Enthusiasm

Please note that candidates should be comfortable with all of the above as you will be asked to demonstrate some or all of these requirements during the practical component of the interview.

The following experience is desirable:

  • Knowledge of Active Directory administrator duties
  • Knowledge of Azure cloud deployment and administrator duties
  • Knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server deployment
  • Basic knowledge of network topology
  • Basic firewall knowledge

Entry requirements:

The entry requirements for this Azure Cloud Support Specialist programme are as follows:

  • 3 GCSEs (or equivalent) at grades 4+ (A-C) in any subject
  • GCSE Maths and English (or equivalents) at grades 3+ (D or above)
  • Prospective apprentices must not hold an existing qualification at the same or higher level as this apprenticeship is in a similar subject

You may also have a combination of qualifications and experience which demonstrate the minimum foundation needed for the programme. In this instance you could still be considered for the programme.

If you hold international equivalents of the above qualifications, at the time of your application you must be able to provide an official document that states how your international qualifications compare to the UK qualifications.

Working week:

37.5 hours per week, 9am - 5pm

Future prospects:

92% of QA Apprentices secure permanent employment after finishing their apprenticeship. Additionally there may be opportunities to undertake further apprenticeship training as many of our programs offer on-going development tracks.
