Overview:
As a Finance Assistant, you will support the Finance department's day-to-day operations. This includes maintaining financial records, processing transactions, assist in the preparation of financial statements, and assisting with audits. You will play a crucial role in ensuring the financial health of the organisation by managing various financial tasks and supporting other employees throughout any accounting processes.

Responsibilities:

  • Process invoices, payments and receipts from clients onto Xero (accounting software). By the end of your apprenticeship, you will become a key user and system expert on Xero.
  • Support in weekly/monthly balance sheet reconciliations using information from Xero and Microsoft Excel. Attention to detail is vital here, to ensure the cash flow of the business remains steady.
  • Assist in preparing fortnightly payments runs onto relevant online banking portal.
  • Assist with the financial running of customer programmes, including making payments and accurately updating reconciliation spreadsheets. You will log any client information onto Trello (CRM system).
  • Support month-end and year-end closing processes.
  • Work collaboratively with other departments within Consenna.

Key skills:

  • Strong numerical skills with great attention to detail
  • Experience using Microsoft Packages – specifically Excel
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise multiple tasks and work to deadlines
  • Strong communication skills – verbal and written

Qualifications:
National 5 Maths or Numeracy.

Working week:
Monday - Friday, 
9am - 5pm, 
37.5 hours a week.

Salary:
£19,000 per annum.
