Overview:
We have a fantastic opportunity for someone with a keen interest in pursuing a career as an IT Infrastructure Technician.
You will have the opportunity to gain valuable skills, knowledge and experience as you complete a Level 3 IT Infrastructure Technician Apprenticeship.
The Apprentice IT Infrastructure Technician will work alongside our IT team to gain a thorough understanding of the equipment, installation, and maintenance methodologies used within the company.
Your primary roles will be to ensure the IT infrastructure operates smoothly and support colleagues across all locations, helping them with any issues when using technology to maintain the productivity of the company.
Salary: £20,000 per annum.
Your normal working hours will be:
Monday & Wednesday: 1pm - 9pm,
Tuesday, Thursday & Friday: 9am - 5pm.
What will you be doing as our IT Support Apprentice?
Duties:
- Installation, configuration and imaging of laptops, company phones and other IT equipment using established and defined procedures and processes
- Onboard and train new starters in the systems used
- Re-Image workstations and setup for specific users base on job functions/departments
- Manage and support Cloud based systems – Office 365
- IT Hardware upgrades and repairs, as well as liaising with external suppliers
- Order of IT equipment and consumables, ensuring timely delivery and communication
As well as:
- Troubleshoot system failures, test software, organise upgrade schedules and provide technical guidance where required.
- Perform backups and restoration of data when required.
What we are looking for in applicants:
Desired skills and qualities:
- The ability to diagnose and resolve hardware and software issues relating to computer systems, servers, network devices and applications.
- Proficiency in working with various operating systems and knowledge of system administration tasks, file systems and command-line interfaces.
- Familiarity with basic security practices.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills to provide excellent customer support and assist users in resolving technical issues.
- Skills in maintaining accurate records.
- Adaptability and willingness to stay up to date with the latest technologies, industry trends and best practices in IT infrastructure management.
- Logical and creative thinking skills.
- Ability to work independently and to take responsibility.
- Ability to work with a range of internal and external people.
Entry requirements:
- 3 GCSE's (or equivalent) at grades 4+ (A-C) in any subject
- GCSE Maths and English (or equivalents) at grades 3+ (D or above)
- Prospective apprentices must not hold an existing qualification at the same or higher level as this apprenticeship is in a similar subject
You may also have a combination of qualifications and experience which demonstrate the minimum foundation needed for the programme. In this instance you could still be considered for the programme.
If you hold international equivalents of the above qualifications, at the time of your application you must be able to provide an official document that states how your international qualifications compare to the UK qualifications.
