Islander Aircraft specialise in the maintenance, refurbishment and rebuild of the Britten Norman BN2 Islander. Our recent transition to become Employee-Owned means that our employees within the trust get an indirect stake within the company.

Our primary focus is to complete work to a high standard and in a timely manner. We are based in Scotland, however have clients all around the world. Our engineers between them have over 100 years’ experience working on the BN2 Islander.

Overview:

We are currently looking to expand our existing admin staff base by hiring for an apprentice to work within our stores department. This job involves a variety of tasks ranging from ordering parts, checking paperwork and batching parts in to stock.

You will be involved in the organisation and efficient running of daily office operations. From keeping records up to date, to communicating between departments, you will be responsible for completing multi-level tasks in a professional and timely manner.

Responsibilities:

  • Acting as first response by phone or email for consumer/customer queries on stock and orders updated
  • Ensuring parts, materials and tooling are ordered in a timely manner
  • Becoming a superuser in TrackIT (bespoke inventory system) used to bring on, take off parts and raise notes accordingly
  • Managing and monitoring a shared mailbox ensuring all emails are up to date
  • Monitoring stock quantities to ensure high turnover items remain in stock
  • Performing stock checks and tracking lifted items
  • Coordinating overhaul/repair quotations
  • Issuing customers with quotations and prioritising any AOG requirements
  • Arranging shipment of parts both incoming and outgoing worldwide
  • Generating invoices
  • Provide office guests with a hospitable experience
  • Keeping paperwork up to date and stored appropriately
  • Interacting with IT, phone and building personnel as needed

You will need the following skills:

  • Attention to detail is key in an industry which is highly regulated and safety is a priority
  • Excellent interpersonal skills are essential and the ability to build effective working relations across all departments in the organisation
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to multitask, organise, and prioritise work
  • Personal integrity and good business understanding

Salary:

£15,600 - £19,760 per annum

Working hours:

Monday to Friday, 8am – 4:30pm

Benefits:

All employees are entitled to 28 days holiday a year (including bank holidays). Once you have completed two continuous years, your holiday entitlement will increase one day per year to a maximum of 33 days.
