Overview:

They are now seeking an apprentice to work within their Erskine site. The apprentice will work within the Lifecycle Services Delivery Operation. Our facility is designed to refurbish and remarket preowned IT assets where possible or ethically recycle if no longer usable.

The successful candidate will form part of a compact, agile, and adaptive test team which has varied across the board from industry standard servers, third party computing to networking.

Responsibilities:

  • Performing Data Erasure by manufacturing resets to IT equipment to ensure all customer data is eradicated
  • Becoming a superuser in Linux Red Hat which they will use to test inbound enterprise material with custom scripts specific to stress test products including debugging
  • Problem solving by debugging inbound material which may have components removed or components in the incorrect position. If a script fails, understanding why it failed and take the correct steps to resolve the issue.
  • Working on various products including servers, storage and networking (using terminal software such as Putty & Power Term)
  • Using Microsoft Outlook and Teams to provide updates on products to wider parts of the business
  • Working within a small test team to achieve business metrics by measuring cycle time to see how many days customer orders are in test phase

Salary:

  • £17,550 per annum

Working hours:

  • Monday to Friday, 9am - 5pm
