St Bede's and St Joseph's Catholic College is a coeducational Roman Catholic secondary school and sixth form. We are located over two sites in the City of Bradford in the English county of West Yorkshire. The school was formed in September 2014 because of a merger between St Bede's Grammar School and St Joseph's Catholic College. 
We are currently the largest Catholic school in the UK. 

Overview:
We are now looking for an eager candidate to join us as an apprentice. 

You will have the opportunity to gain valuable skills, knowledge and experience as you complete an IT systems and networking - Azure Cloud Support Specialist - Level 3 Apprenticeship. 

This is a fantastic opportunity for a keen, enthusiastic, and budding IT individual to gain first hand technical experience in a busy and dynamic IT department in Bradford. 

Duties:

  • The installation and maintenance of software on the systems 
  • Computer usage at lunchtimes and other sessions out of normal class teaching periods 
  • Help administrative staff in their use of SIMS software and MS Office applications and help support other users of the network including Macintosh computers and other ICT related facilities 
  • Provide support for teaching staff where required including support of use with classroom computers and ICT devices and be able to follow orders from the senior technician and network manager 
  • Administer the needs of IT provision in the /Learning Resources Centre and other departmental locations around the school 
  • Responsible for the installation and removal of projectors, laptops and AV equipment when required in departmental locations 
  • Assist in the development of the schools inter and intranet sites 

What we are looking for: 
Desirable skills: 

  • Computer literate 
  • Working knowledge of the main MS Office programs
  • An understanding of Windows networking environments

Having a Driving License is highly desirable, but not essential.

  • A driven individual
  • Motivated by hands on learning
  • Wants to pursue career progression

Entry requirements:

  • 3 GCSE's (or equivalent) at grades 4+ (A-C) in any subject
  • GCSE Maths and English (or equivalents) at grades 3+ (D or above)
  • Prospective apprentices must not hold an existing qualification at the same or higher level as this apprenticeship is in a similar subject

You may also have a combination of qualifications and experience which demonstrate the minimum foundation needed for the programme. In this instance you could still be considered for the programme.

If you hold international equivalents of the above qualifications, at the time of your application you must be able to provide an official document that states how your international qualifications compare to the UK qualifications.

Salary:
Minimum Apprenticeship Wage for first 12 months based on term time only +10 days, £8,984.63, for 40 weeks.
