Junior IT Support Analyst
OfficeTek provide IT support and consultancy services to small to medium sized businesses. We have a requirement for a Junior IT Support Analyst to work on our Service Desk. The primary objective of the Service Desk is to provide an efficient, friendly and effective first line problem solving service to our customers.
Main Objective
Working on the Service Desk, you will be responsible for accurately logging service request calls for IT problems and provide guidance/support/solution over the phone. When a service request cannot be solved by you in a reasonable time frame due to its technical complexity you will escalate the problem quickly to a more experienced IT Support Analyst. Keeping the customer
informed at all times.
Main Duties
- Provide a helpful professional first/second line support service to customers
- Perform predefined daily/weekly/monthly maintenance checks and tasks
- Log all service requests against the customer account in our Service Desk System
- Progress to resolution or escalation all outstanding service requests
- Perform required analysis and research to successfully resolve service requests
- Keep the customer informed at all times about the status or progress of their request
- Check and respond to alerts reported by our Monitoring System
- Maintain network documentation for customer networks
- Liaise with external technology vendors as required to resolve service requests

- Excellent basic Maths and English
- Excellent Science related qualifications

- Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
- Internet Browsers (Microsoft Edge, Google Chrome)
- Printer Setup and Configuration
- Basic Understanding of Antivirus, Antimalware and Backup Solutions
- Basic Understanding of Computer Hardware
Annual Salary
- £13,000 to £15,000 per annum
Hours of Work
- 37.5 hours per week: 9am to 5pm, Monday - Friday
Entry Requirements:
- 3 GCSEs (or equivalent) at grades 4+ (A-C) in any subject
- GCSE Maths and English (or equivalents) at grades 3+ (D or above)
- Prospective apprentices must not hold an existing qualification at the same or higher level as this apprenticeship in a similar subject
You may also have a combination of qualifications and experience which demonstrate the minimum foundation needed for the programme. In this instance you could still be considered for the programme.
If you hold international equivalents of the above qualifications, at the time of your application you must be able to provide an official document that states how your international qualifications compare to the UK qualifications.
