Overall purpose of the job:

You will be responsible for providing Tier 2 Azure, Network and Security support to our internal technical team.

You will be dealing with issues, questions, and queries on a daily basis. In addition to this you will manage the active directory security management, our internal operational applications, identify and advise on solutions to technical issues and be involved in network architectural consultation on project work. 

There will be a degree of routine maintenance and day to day tasks, however the successful applicant will have scope to improve and enhance existing processes.

This role will be primarily internal facing, but there will be regular contact with third party technical support and a small amount of client interaction when dealing with external queries as required.

Duties and responsibilities:

  • You will be responsible for the day-to-day support of our internal team
  • Manage and maintain internal operational systems
  • Manage in house security via active directory
  • Monitor / maintain and enhance our existing Azure environment
  • Provide second-line support services to customers
  • Provide first-line support to our internal teams
  • Respond to queries received via email, Teams, in person and our self-service portal
  • Log and track all queries and ensure the records are kept up to date
  • Escalate issues to the correct support team in a timely manner with the correct information
  • Raise problems and enhancement requests
  • Create and manage knowledge base articles and documentation to ensure up-to-date information is available for customers
  • Be an exceptional communicator 
  • Become part of the internal security team, helping to enhance and implement our security policy

Entry requirements:

The entry requirements for this Azure Cloud Support Specialist programme are as follows:

  • 3 GCSE’s (or equivalent) at grades 4+ (A-C) in any subject
  • GCSE Maths and English (or equivalents) at grades 3+ (D or above)
  • Prospective apprentices must not hold an existing qualification at the same or higher level as this apprenticeship is in a similar subject

You may also have a combination of qualifications and experience which demonstrate the minimum foundation needed for the programme. In this instance you could still be considered for the programme.

If you hold international equivalents of the above qualifications, at the time of your application you must be able to provide an official document that states how your international qualifications compare to the UK qualifications.
