Green IT Disposal, based in Altrincham, Trafford, Greater Manchester, offers a totally managed service for the collection and processing of redundant IT and computer equipment. 

Overview: 

The IT Technician Apprentice will be the first point of contact for customers requiring assistance. This role provides customer support, helping to resolve incidents and manage requests within the terms of predefined Service Level Agreements. 

Main responsibilities:

  • Evaluate, troubleshoot, test, and repair products that come in for refurbishment
  • Integration of new hardware within IT systems and ensuring stability and compatibility within the system
  • Test, repair and integration of operating systems including software installation, driver updates and stress testing
  • Work different operating systems (iOS, Windows, Android..) and devices in order to update to latest OS.
  • Understand operational requirements and be able to identify and correct problems or inconsistencies.
  • Support other departments within company as required

  • To be able to work independently and show initiative in providing a Service covering hardware, software and peripherals 
  • Self-motivated, with a strong commitment to teamwork and service 
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of people and personalities
  • A common-sense approach and enthusiasm to learn 
  • The capacity to remain calm and to cope under pressure 
  • Troubleshooting skills, backed by a clear, analytical approach to problem-solving 

Entry requirements:

The entry requirements for this Azure Cloud Support Specialist programme are as follows:

  • 3 GCSE’s (or equivalent) at grades 4+ (A-C) in any subject
  • GCSE Maths and English (or equivalents) at grades 3+ (D or above)
  • Prospective apprentices must not hold an existing qualification at the same or higher level as this apprenticeship is in a similar subject

You may also have a combination of qualifications and experience which demonstrate the minimum foundation needed for the programme. In this instance you could still be considered for the programme.

If you hold international equivalents of the above qualifications, at the time of your application you must be able to provide an official document that states how your international qualifications compare to the UK qualifications.

Working week: 

35 hours per week, 

Monday to Friday, 9am - 5pm.
