The Data Analyst Apprentice will collaborate closely with the technology team as well other business stakeholders, analyzing and interpreting data collected internally from Internal ERP platform and Microsoft Dynamics and externally from our broad set of platforms.

V.Group are building a new data environment to represent the company’s operations in data, the apprentice will become a core part of the team delivering this project and it provides a great opportunity 

This role will be part of the Global Digital team in V.Group. 

Monday-Friday 9am-5.30pm

Main responsibilities

1. Mine and analyse data from within our various databases to support the development of ShipSure systems
2. Participate on analytics projects in order to provide insights. 
3. Design and maintain data specifications for Conceptual and Logical Database designs within the group One Data Platform
4. Ensuring group data dictionary is kept up to date with clear descriptions that are meaningful for business users.
5. Acquire, sort and clean data from a variety of primary and secondary sources and maintain internal databases
6. Learn how to develop and implement dashboards, statistical analysis, and reports to provide insight about the business operations, sales, and growth. V.Group use Dundas BI and Power BI as our core delivery platforms.
7. Work with various internal stakeholders to prioritize business needs and transform them into analytics solutions

Personal Qualities

The Apprentice Data Analyst will have an appreciation and aspiration to become skilled in managing, provisioning, and delivering an excellent Data Science experience across a global and diverse estate. They shall have strong organisational and communication skills as they will eventually be responsible for supporting several high-profile IT systems. 

College level education award in a STEM subject
Some experience or knowledge of using statistical computer languages (R, Python, SQL, etc) to manipulate data and draw insights from large data sets would be useful
Some experience or knowledge of with statistical and visualisation tools such as (Dundas BI, SaaS, SPSS, SQL, MS Excel, Power BI, Tableau etc.)
Strong written and verbal communication skills 
Ability to be self-motivate for planning and executing tasks and projects.
Willing to travel in support of business requirements.
