Overview: 

We are now looking for an eager candidate to join us as an apprentice. 

You will have the opportunity to gain valuable skills, knowledge and experience as you complete an IT systems and networking - Azure Cloud Support Specialist - Level 3 Apprenticeship. 

Job type: Full-time, Permanent. 

Salary: £12,500 per year. 

Responsibilities:

  • Provide 1st Line IT Support.
  • Monitor Network & Server Infrastructure.
  • Taking phone calls on the Service Desk, handling Service portal tickets and emails.
  • Provide remote and on-site IT Support where required.
  • Respond to system failures in a timely manner.
  • Create and maintain procedures for new and existing processes.
  • Troubleshooting customer technical faults and driving fault resolution
  • Client service management and relationship building.

Other requirements:

  • Some on-site maintenance is required so a full driving licence would be beneficial
  • A good understanding of Microsoft Windows operating systems
  • Experience with various brands of routers and networking equipment
  • Experience of working with, and troubleshooting, wired and wireless networks with a good understanding of TCP/IP
  • Excellent communication skills, verbal and written, including a confident and polite manner when talking to customers
  • Good organisational and troubleshooting skills, including time management, and the ability to multi-task and prioritise your own workload

Ability to commute/relocate:

  • Rochdale OL16: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)

Entry requirements:

The entry requirements for this Azure Cloud Support Specialist programme are as follows:

  • 3 GCSE’s (or equivalent) at grades 4+ (A-C) in any subject
  • GCSE Maths and English (or equivalents) at grades 3+ (D or above)
  • Prospective apprentices must not hold an existing qualification at the same or higher level as this apprenticeship is in a similar subject

You may also have a combination of qualifications and experience which demonstrate the minimum foundation needed for the programme. In this instance you could still be considered for the programme. 

If you hold international equivalents of the above qualifications, at the time of your application you must be able to provide an official document that states how your international qualifications compare to the UK qualifications.

Training:

Start with a 16 month IT apprenticeship, which consists of training in small groups and work based assessment covering: Operating systems, Server administration, Customer support, Networking and Security.

Work remotely:

  • No

Working week:

  • 8 hour shift / 40hrs a week
  • Monday to Friday
