OracleBio’s Apprentice Scientist Programme provides a fantastic opportunity for school leavers looking to develop a successful career in the scientific industry, leading to industry accredited qualifications in SCQF Level 6 Diploma in Digital Applications, and SCQF Level 8 in Data Analytics. 

Working at the interface of Biology and Technology, OracleBio provide digital pathology services to Pharmaceutical and Biotechnology R&D groups in crucial areas such as cancer research, using Artificial Intelligence and cloud computing technology.

Building on your passion for Biology, our Apprenticeship Programme is designed to create a solid foundation on which you can develop your career. Our comprehensive programme, allows you to combine on-the-job learning and work-based assessments, working 1 day in the office and 4 days from home.

Under the guidance of our experienced Image Analysis Scientists, you will learn a broad range of skills, such as:

  • Gaining an understanding of healthy and diseased tissues with support from our Scientists and in-house Pathologists
  • Using this understanding to annotate images according to client expectations using state-of-the-art-computer software
  • How to troubleshoot and solve problems arising within the image analysis software
  • Establishing expertise in Image Quality Control and Data Quality Control processes
  • Developing your digital skills; such as working in our Amazon Web Services (AWS) cloud environment and communication using Microsoft Outlook and Microsoft Teams (internally with our team, and externally with clients when your confidence grows)
  • Learn how to safely manage and export large amounts of data, from the software and produce content for client reports, such as graphs and charts
  • Self-development of your knowledge and skill set

Upon successful completion of our Apprentice Programme you will be on a pathway to becoming an Image Analysis Scientist and a rewarding career in the Science and Technology sector.
