Employer description:

GP Computers was established in 2011 to provide IT support to business in the southeast of England. The company employs around 12 people with the main base of operations being in Windsor, a remote office near Oxford and a call centre in Europe.

GP Computers provides many services to its customers ranging from IT Support, Online marketing, website development, call centre services, infrastructure design and implementation as well as repairs of computers and laptops etc.

Overview: 

GP computers is looking to hire an apprentice to join the IT Support team in Windsor.

You, the candidate, will have the opportunity to learn and develop via practical use of your skills and gain knowledge from the team while you complete the IT Support apprenticeship.

Salary:

£13,000 to £17,000 per annum.

Key responsibilities:

  • Trouble shooting issues with Laptops, PCs, mobile phones and tablets
  • Providing remote and onsite support to customers
  • Configuring networking equipment
  • Installation of IT equipment & structured cabling
  • Answering the phone and logging service requests in our CRM

Also:

  • Holding a Full UK Driving licence is a requirement as travelling to client sites is part of the role

Entry requirements:

The entry requirements for this Azure Cloud Support Specialist programme are as follows:

  • 3 GCSE’s (or equivalent) at grades 4+ (A-C) in any subject
  • GCSE Maths and English (or equivalents) at grades 3+ (D or above)
  • Prospective apprentices must not hold an existing qualification at the same or higher level as this apprenticeship is in a similar subject

You may also have a combination of qualifications and experience which demonstrate the minimum foundation needed for the programme. In this instance you could still be considered for the programme.

If you hold international equivalents of the above qualifications, at the time of your application you must be able to provide an official document that states how your international qualifications compare to the UK qualifications.

Working week: 

40 hours per week, 

8:30am until 5:30pm, Mondays to Fridays. 

Benefits:

Once the apprenticeship is completed, for the right candidate, there is opportunity to become a full time 1st Line Support - with a salary that can increase from £20,000 to £25,000 per annum.
