Level 4 Network Engineer Apprenticeship – Network Apprentice

Location: Doncaster

Salary:

Starting salary will be £18,000 per annum, which will be increasing to £19,000 on completion of Apprenticeship.

The Role:

  • Our exciting Network Apprentice role will develop your network and infrastructure skills to become a confident, positive and flexible network engineer with well-honed technical knowledge. 
  • You will support the team to deliver solutions to deadlines and within budget on both information technology and operational technology systems. 
  • As a Network Apprentice you will develop the key skills and experience in designing, installing, maintaining and supporting communication networks within or between organisations. 
  • The networks carry critical data so protecting that data with a secure practices will be a fundamental requirement in all aspects of the work. 

Apprenticeship Programme:

Through our apprenticeship you’ll be making the most of your talents, getting to understand network engineering from the ground up; and doing so with the help of one of the biggest and best names in the industry.

As a Network Apprentice you will be studying towards becoming a Level 4 Network Engineer Apprenticeship with our external partner QA Training. For the duration of this 18-month programme you will combine academic study with practical application, working within our Secure Network’s team in Doncaster.

This programme is delivered via a blended learning model including online learning and classroom workshops for each of the 5 knowledge modules.

For the rest of the time, you will be working in the Thales business as a Network Apprentice, alongside industry experts and professionals.

Who we’re looking for:

  • We are looking for enthusiastic individuals who are motivated, committed and keen to learn.
  • A self-starter who is able to manage their time, show initiative and has a genuine interest in network engineering and Thales.
  • Successful candidates will show self-discipline and an aspiration to achieve a Level 4 qualification.

Entry requirements:

The entry requirements for this programme are as follows:

  • An A-Level in ICT
  • OR an International Baccalaureate at Level 3 ICT
  • OR an A-Level 3 apprenticeship in a similar subject
  • OR a BTEC Extended Diploma in IT (180 credits)

Learners must not hold an existing qualification at the same or higher level as this apprenticeship in a similar subject. 

Right to Work in the UK for the duration of the 18-month programme. 

Please note,

Assessment centres for shortlisted candidates will be held on Tuesday 28th March 2023. Induction week for all Graduate and Apprentices will commence on Monday 4th September until Friday 8th September 2023.

All apprentices require full Security Clearance in line with United Kingdom Security Vetting (UKSV) requirements - to gain clearance you will typically need to have been a UK resident for a minimum of five years.
