Overview: 

We are now looking for an eager candidate to join us as an apprentice. 

You will have the opportunity to gain valuable skills, knowledge and experience as you complete a Data Analyst - Level 4 Apprenticeship. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Analyse data from various data sources (sales and consumption data, trading, performance, oceanographic, meteo, AIS, etc.) in order to document the operational efficiency of a vessel in respect of hull performance and paint purchasing/consumption.
  • Document the behaviour, actual hull and propeller performance, communicate the results to customers and suggest necessary actions to improve hull efficiency based on the available data. 
  • Contribute to the development of hull management related services to customers, such as HullKeeper and HSS.

As well as:

  • Analyse the oceanographic data for specific vessels in order to document the actual conditions vessels are exposed to.
  • Analyse the performance data for specific vessels in order to document the actual hull and propeller condition. 
  • Analyse the operational behaviour of the vessel and the impact on operational efficiency.
  • Contribute to the development of services and tools, in order to be proactive, understand the challenges in different trading areas and advise customers in optimising their vessel efficiency.
  • Support Technical Sales Support through analysis of vessel trade and all other available data
  • Assist the Sales Representatives in customer meetings in order to strengthen the customer relationship, promote the Hull Management Solutions and premium products portfolio.
  • Build relationships with customers own data analysts and fleet efficiency analysts.

Other Tasks Include:

  • Perform analysis and reporting using all available data sources (sales, data, performance, oceanographic, meteo, AIS, etc.)
  • Present the analysis results in a professional and understandable way
  • Act as a consultant towards customer and offer advice on hull management and operational efficiency optimisation
  • Create business intelligence from analysed data to support company’s strategy
  • Improve overall data quality (DD dates, hull & prop cleaning dates etc.)
  • Assist sales representatives by generating insights to promote premium products portfolio
  • Assist and support sales representatives in customer meetings
  • Assist in the development of data driven solutions to support company’s strategic targets
  • Build-up a network of contacts to relevant partners
  • Facilitate communication with the operators of the designated group of vessels for questions related to data exchange and performance analysis
  • Contribute to the further development of all analysis related services

What we are looking for:

Qualities and Knowledge:

  • Firm and positive attitude

  • Knowledge of advanced statistics
  • Programming skills (Big data, Matlab, Python) – (Highly desirable)
  • Hydrodynamics and/or naval architecture and/or mechanical engineering

Entry requirements:

Standard entry:

  • Level 3 qualification (apprenticeship/A-levels/BTEC, etc)
  • OR equivalent work experience (typically two years in a relevant role)

Plus:

  • 5 GCSE's, including English and Maths at Grade 4 (C) or above
  • Experience with using Excel and Microsoft products (or similar)

Working week:

8:30am - 5pm, Monday - Friday, 

37.5hrs per week.
