The Role: 

The Technical Support Analyst will be responsible, as part of the Technical Support team, for providing 2nd line technical support for the West Brom I.T. systems and supporting technologies.

The Technical Support Analyst will be responsible for evaluating and assessing the impact of reported issues, recommending and implementing resolutions.

The role requires a high degree of analytical and constructive thinking to tackle a wide variety of challenging and difficult I.T. related issues. 

Main responsibilities: 

  • Support and maintenance of a wide range of infrastructure and business software tools.
  • Support and maintenance of Windows and Linux platforms.
  • Support and maintenance of on-premise Virtualisation Infrastructure (VMWare).
  • Support and maintenance of Cloud Virtualisation Infrastructure (Azure).
  • Assist in the identification and resolution of Cyber related vulnerabilities.
  • Liaise with third party suppliers to resolve I.T. related issues.
  • Assist in the resolution of assigned calls made to the I.T. Service desk.
  • Producing quality documentation.
  • Assist in ensuring Service Level Agreements are met.
  • Providing assistance to other areas of the IT Service & Solutions department as necessary including areas not detailed above. 

Personal specification: 

The skills and experience required are:

  • Successful completion of an academic I.T. related course.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to produce clear and detailed technical documentation.
  • Ability to work independently. 

Entry requirements: 

You need to have 5 GCSE’s: 

  • Maths and English (or equivalents) at grades D or above 
  • 3x GCSE’s grade A-C in any other subject 

You must not already have a qualification in a similar subject at the same level, or higher level than this apprenticeship. 

If you hold international equivalents of the above qualifications, at the time of your application you must be able to provide an official document that states how your international qualifications compare to the UK qualifications.

Salary: 

Will be between £12,000 - £15,000 per annum, depending on experience.
