Physiological Measurements Ltd is an award-winning provider of community non-invasive diagnostic services in partnership with the NHS. PML was set up to provide additional capacity to the acute sector of the NHS. As the modern NHS evolved, PML has changed and grown in line with NHS modernisation. The focus of the NHS after the Health and Social Care acts was to improve quality and give power back to develop locally-led and commissioned clinical services. PML has been supporting this initiative since 2012 in delivering cardiology and general ultrasound contracts under the AQP banner.

PML have in place an excellent team and see approximately 10,000 patients each month at sites across England.

Job overview:

This role will support the Data Analyst who has oversight of all NHS Patient-related Business Intelligence within the organisation.

Main role:

  • Collate data for Monthly Invoice creation and Monthly Data Set submission.
  • To ensure data is collected in an accurate, timely, consistent way and that complete information is recorded within our systems.
  • Support the Data Analyst with the collation of operational and performance data for Quality and Performance reporting.
  • Working alongside other departments to ensure the provision of accurate and timely data

Primary duties include:

  • Acquiring data from a primary data source (ipmc2 Database).
  • Manipulating downloaded Excel reports
  • Ad hoc tasks on behalf of the Data Analyst
  • Communicating with Workstreams to address any data queries and missing data
  • Analysing patient files to address any data queries and missing data
  • Assisting with invoice data collation
  • Analysing monthly data to calculate internal and CCG KPIs
  • Escalating Data Quality issues to Data Analyst
  • Assist with regular monthly and weekly reporting
  • Process confidential data and information according to guidelines

In summary – Interrogating data, collecting, analysing, correcting and presenting results for reporting requirements.

Required qualities, skills and experience:

  • Enjoys problem-solving
  • Attention to detail
  • Acts on own initiative when troubleshooting data queries
  • Experience using Microsoft Excel, Outlook and Word
  • Numerate (able to work with percentages, max, min, average, rolling averages, clock start/clock stop times and day counts etc.)
  • Ability to work on own initiative or as part of a team
  • Good communication skills - The role requires liaising with other departments
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities

Entry Level Requirements:

The entry requirements for this programme are as follows:

  • 3 GCSEs (or equivalent) at grades 4+ (A-C) in any subject
  • GCSE Maths and English (or equivalents) at grades 3+ (D or above)
  • Prospective apprentices must not hold an existing qualification at the same or higher level as this apprenticeship in a similar subject

Experience (if the learner can’t meet the qualification requirements):

  • Those working in a role (for at least 6 months) where data is used on a regular basis and able to demonstrate working towards Level 2 in Maths and English.

If you hold international equivalents of the above qualifications, at the time of your application you must be able to provide an official document that states how your international qualifications compare to the UK qualifications.
