Responsibilities:
We are looking for an IT and AI Technician Apprentice to join our team in Harrogate. This is a hands-on role ideal for someone with a keen interest in technology, cloud computing and artificial intelligence. You will support the delivery of reliable and secure IT services across the charity while completing the Microsoft Azure Cloud Support Specialist Level 3 Apprenticeship.
You will gain practical experience in IT support, cloud systems and AI tools such as Microsoft Copilot and Power Automate. This role is perfect for someone who enjoys problem-solving, learning new technologies and helping others. Your work will help ensure our staff have the digital tools they need to support people with sight loss and other disabilities.
Who we are looking for:
We are looking for someone who is enthusiastic, curious and ready to learn. You should be self-motivated, able to work as part of a small team and have good communication skills.
Essential skills:
- Interest in IT, cloud computing or emerging technologies
- Ability to problem-solve technical issues and support users
- Awareness of data protection and cybersecurity principles
- Flexible working attitude and ability to carry out physical aspects of the role
- DBS check with adult barring required
Desirable skills:
- Experience providing IT support (formal or informal)
- Familiarity with Microsoft 365, Azure or similar cloud environments
- Interest in AI tools and automation (e.g. Microsoft Copilot, Power Automate)
- Full driving licence and access to transport for site visits
Entry requirements:
- 3 GCSEs (or equivalent) at grades 4+ (A-C) in any subject
- GCSE Maths and English (or equivalents) at grades 3+ (D or above)
- Prospective apprentices must not hold an existing qualification at the same or higher level as this apprenticeship is in a similar subject
You may also have a combination of qualifications and experience which demonstrate the minimum foundation needed for the programme. In this instance you could still be considered for the programme.
If you hold international equivalents of the above qualifications, at the time of your application you must be able to provide an official document that states how your international qualifications compare to the UK qualifications.
