Overview: 

This is a Robotic Process Automation (RPA) testing role that will require someone with a technical background and programming skills. There are a number of complex automations under test across a broad range of technologies, including but not limited to Funds, Wealth Management, Life and Pensions Functionality, Client Documentation, Web Version, Quotations & Illustrations, Product Rules and Client Reports. 

The RPA QA Analyst will need to have a problem-solving and analytical mind to excel at this job, as they will be responsible for creating test plans, test execution and bug detection. Communication skills are very important because analysts will need to work closely with the RPA Developer and Analyst teams as well as be responsible for communicating changes to both internal and external clients / stakeholders. 

Once competency is achieved as an RPA QA analyst a pathway to RPA development will be made available to the candidates demonstrating the required aptitude and skillset. 

Responsibilities: 

  • Design and Maintenance of Test Plans, Test Scripts and Test Processes
  • Bug Detection, Tracking and Resolution.
  • Prioritisation of Software Issues
  • SQL server query scripting skills
  • Strong MS Office skills; in particular Excel and Word
  • Generation of Ad-hoc reports
  • Production of Release Notes
  • Production of User Manuals 
  • Provision of Peer-to-Peer training
  • Meeting Release Deadlines

Desirable skills: 

  • Experience with RPA software (Blue Prism)
  • Understanding of RPA core concepts
  • Life Assurance and Pension industry experience and/or SA Financial Services experience
    ALM / JIRA Experience: Test Plan and Test Lab / Defect management / Dashboard
  • Experience of testing API's
  • Experience of testing using SOAP UI
  • Experience in / Exposure to Test Automation (not specific to writing Auto Test Cases)
  • Understanding and experience of working in SDLC model

Personal skills:

  • Excellent verbal and written English skills
  • Self-motivated with strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Able and willing to learn complex business processes
  • Ability to collaborate with other teams (i.e. RPA Development, RPA Analysts, Operations…)
  • Strong experience in requirement analysis and subsequent writing/defining test plans with traceability

Entry requirements:

  • 5 GCSE’s [especially English, Mathematics and a science or technology subject]
  • Other relevant qualifications and experience
  • Or an aptitude test with a focus on IT skills

You must not hold an existing qualification at the same or higher level than this apprenticeship in a similar subject

You may also have a combination of qualifications and experience which demonstrate the minimum foundation needed for the programme. In this instance you could still be considered for the programme.

If you hold international equivalents of the above qualifications, at the time of your application you must be able to provide an official document that states how your international qualifications compare to the UK qualifications.

Salary: 

£22,000 per annum.

92% of QA Apprentices secure permanent employment after finishing their apprenticeship. Additionally, there may be opportunities to undertake further apprenticeship training as many of our programs offer on-going development tracks.
