As well as ensuring excellence in the specialist field of courtcraft, the faculty is constantly evolving and is at the forefront of innovations in alternative dispute resolution methods such as arbitration and mediation.

This role within the Facilities team is one that can see you working across 5 different areas within the Faculty of Advocates. It will see you covering reception duties, arranging meeting, setting up and assisting with running events and providing assistance to members of Faculty.

As an Apprentice Facilities Assistant you will:

  • To provide support to the Faculty Superintendent & T&E Dept. when organising events.
  • Reception Support – this will include answering telephones; email and paging Members and to handle appropriately; enquiries from Members; Solicitors/Agents; Clients; Clerks and all other staff.
  • Members Support – you will assist members of Faculty to dress into professional court garments and to prepare and pack members' court garments when working outside Edinburgh.
  • To carry out any other task, across all Faculty buildings, as reasonably assigned by the Faculty Superintendent or Deputy.

You are

  • An excellent communicator with good attention to detail
  • Positive and customer focused
  • Preferably have some knowledge of Microsoft packages and have basic computer literacy
  • Eager to learn

Benefits:

  • Salary - £ 12,431 per annum
  • Future Salary - This will be discussed at the end of the fixed term contract
  • 35-hour week  Monday to Friday, worked between 8am and 6pm
  • There will be opportunity for paid overtime (if required to work evenings or weekends).

Future Career Progression:

  • This will be discussed upon the successful completion of your Apprenticeship
