Job summary:
This is an exciting opportunity to earn while you learn. As a Junior Network Engineer (Level 4 Network Engineer Apprentice) you will undertake a learning programme while getting real work experience with a Defence Digital Delivery team.
We are invested in your success, in addition to the support you receive from your Cohort Manager in the Defence Digital Skills and Capability Team, your placement line-manager, skills coach and Engineering Head of Practice will provide coaching and mentoring to enable you to succeed.
All apprentices who successfully complete this programme will be offered a permanent appointment in Defence Digital.
The apprenticeship position is a 23-month fixed term contract.
Responsibilities:
You’ll be working with the team to manage different services across our networks, ensuring that our customers in Defence have the very best experience.
You will also contribute to stakeholder engagement and communications activities including the design and distribution of communications materials and the organisation of events for your team and the Engineering community of practice.
Entry Qualifications:
To undertake the Apprenticeship, applicants must hold either of the following:
- An A level in ICT
- Or An international Baccalauret at Level 3 in ICT
- Or A Level 3 apprenticeship in a similar subject
- Or A BTEC Extended Diploma in IT
- Or 1 year plus of experience working in any IT position or 1 year work experience in any other profession or sector and able to demonstrate working towards level 2 in maths and English.
If you already hold a qualification at Level 4 or higher you may still be eligible for this apprenticeship if your current qualification is in a different subject.
Following completion of all pre-employment checks, successful candidates can expect to start around April 2023.
