Overview:

We are now looking for an eager candidate to join us as an apprentice. 
You will have the opportunity to gain valuable skills, knowledge and experience as you complete a Level 3 IT Cloud Network Specialist Apprenticeship.

Role purpose: 

This role is key to enabling the proactive team to deliver the highest level of proactive engineering to Aura’s customer base. The candidate undertaking this role will have the responsibility of assisting proactive engineers to deliver the board's vision and targets for proactive engineering. 

A Junior Proactive Engineer: 

  • Will work closely with Proactive Engineers so that the team can identify and advise enhancement opportunities within Aura core services and the customer's core services to meet the Aura assured configuration standards and document these benefits.
  • Will work with the Proactive team to implement changes in a controlled manner to ensure systems and services are aligned and performing optimally and securely.
  • Has the responsibility to work with Aura customers to attempt to proactively identify any ongoing or potential IT issue before it has been raised with the Aura Service Desk Team.
  • Will proactively review ticket trends and provide insight to allow the team to implement solutions, applications or upgrades to prevent unwanted incidents from being logged with the Service Desk and therefore increase the efficiency and leverage of the Aura Service desk.
  • Will find opportunities for and develop new training materials and how-to guides for customer staff to ensure they have the best possible understanding of IT Systems.

This is a hybrid role and as such will be expected to work from home and in the office on agreed days. 

Primary Accountabilities: 

  • Assist in delivering the unique Aura Proactive Service to customers. Improve customer experience through enhancing engagement with IT systems
  • Ensure proactive engineering customer management tools are up to date and completed for each Managed IT customer
  • Utilise Microsoft tools to asses customer security improvements and work with Proactive engineers to agree on and implement solutions.
  • Monitor customer devices and ensure devices are kept in the compliance based on the Aura compliance policy.
  • Gather monthly report data for key Proactive customer services & applications
  • Gather data for departments KPI, SLA and OLA’s, work with proactive engineers to implement corrective actions to ensure consistent achievement against the relevant targets as well as ensuring Aura exceeds its 95% CSAT Target
  • Adhere to the practices and procedures of Aura’s company standards and achievements.
  • From time to time assist with the wider Aura Engineering team on technical pre-sales, projects or reactive tasks as appropriate.
  • Undertake ad hoc tasks from time to time as directed.

Experience, knowledge and skills: 

 Essential: 

  • Working towards an IT qualification, preferably within Microsoft 365 / Azure 
  • Excellent time management and organisational skills 
  • Ability to look logically at problems and present problems to others in a methodical manner 
  • Ability to converse with all levels of internal staff 
  • Microsoft Office suite skills 

Desirable: 

  • ITIL knowledge or certification 

Entry requirements: 

The entry requirements for this Cloud Network Specialist programme are as follows:

  • 3 GCSEs (or equivalent) at grades 4+ (A-C) in any subject
  • GCSE Maths and English (or equivalents) at grades 3+ (D or above)
  • Prospective apprentices must not hold an existing qualification at the same or higher level as this apprenticeship in a similar subject

You may also have a combination of qualifications and experience which demonstrate the minimum foundation needed for the programme. In this instance you could still be considered for the programme.

If you hold international equivalents of the above qualifications, at the time of your application you must be able to provide an official document that states how your international qualifications compare to the UK qualifications.

Salary:

£12,000 - £13,000 per annum.

Future prospects:

92% of QA Apprentices secure permanent employment after finishing their apprenticeship. Additionally, there may be opportunities to undertake further apprenticeship training as many of our programs offer on-going development tracks.
