Hotgolf is one of the largest independent golf retailers in the UK.

Overview:

We are looking for a eager applicant to join us as an apprentice, and become a web designer.

You’ll have a flair for marketing design in order to join our growing team.

This new role, for which we are looking to recruit immediately, will assist with the continued development and maintenance of our website, and the successful candidate would ideally have knowledge of WordPress and WooCommerce.

The successful candidate will be required to work towards a degree level qualification or similar in web design, they will be self-motivated, accurate and methodical in their approach and able to work to deadlines.

You will also be required to provide on-going support to management and be able to work closely with company directors and other design team members to streamline ICT processes and procedures throughout the business.

Responsibilities:

Key tasks within this role are as follows:

  • You’ll get involved in a range of different projects for the group from supporting marketing campaigns to collating information on consumer behaviour
  • Helping to collate content and images for a range of online newsletters and campaigns the marketing team send out on a regular basis
  • Working with sales to ensure correct descriptions and data are used for the full inventory
  • Ensuring our Group website is well optimised and delivering quality leads into the business
  • Maintaining and keeping the marketing portal up to date with all relevant content created
  • Collecting information from across the business to inform future purchases of stock
  • Pulling together competitor research reports across different products
  • Drafting and monitoring social media posts that will be sent out across all channels (Twitter, LinkedIn, Instagram) with discount codes
  • Uploading and monitoring online content across websites, content partnerships and social channels
  • Registering and keeping up to date company details on the many online portals 
  • General administrative duties to support the wider team 

What we are looking for:

  • The position will require a knowledge of marketing techniques including Google Shopping, Email campaigns and the use of social media to drive brand awareness and increase sales. 
  • A knowledge of golf or golf products would of advantage, but is not essential. 

Entry requirements:

Standard Entry:

  • To be eligible to study for a degree, typically candidates will have achieved grade C or above in at least five GCSE’s
  • And at least two A-levels passes or any equivalent Level 3 qualifications.
  • Any Level 3 Apprenticeship

Non-standard Entry with work experience:

  • Equivalent work experience (typically 2 years relevant experience at an appropriate level) – candidates may have previously been in a digital marketer role or be able to demonstrate a real passion and personal experience in digital marketing.
  • Relevant professional qualifications and/or work experience will be taken into consideration where the applicant has the judged potential to benefit from the programme, allowing for contextualized applications.
  • The nature of an applicant’s work experience is as important if not more so than the duration of that experience. The experience could include Digital and Marketing Analysts, Digital Marketing Executives, Digital Marketing Campaign Managers, Social Media Specialists, Content Marketing Executives, Digital Producers and Pay Per Click Analysts.

Informal Interviews:

Informal interviews may be held by academic/ admissions staff where:

  • The suitability of a candidate is in doubt and further evidence is sought.
  • The candidate presents an unusual set of qualifications taken or pending, and an appropriate conditional offer needs to be determined.
  • Candidates may need advice on the appropriateness of the programme.

Salary:

£22,000 per annum.

Future prospects:

92% of QA Apprentices secure permanent employment after finishing their apprenticeship. Additionally, there may be opportunities to undertake further apprenticeship training as many of our programs offer on-going development tracks.
