The Glasgow Academy are giving someone this amazing opportunity to work as an IT apprentice. It is hoped that the apprentice would be kept on in a permanent IT Support role at The Glasgow Academy following successful completion of their Apprenticeship. Key Responsibilities:

  • Working mainly with Windows, Office 365, Active Directory, Classroom IT Setup (Large Interactive screens, Projectors etc) along with other IT systems.
  • Checking new cases logged on our IT Helpdesk - Visiting classrooms to resolve any AV or Windows PC problems - Unlocking or resetting Passwords with Active Directory
  • Checking the weekly status of HP Aruba Wireless Access Points and reporting any issues
  • Production of Employee Passes using the PACs database
  • Assisting with reimaging and set up of PCs/Laptops using System Centre
  • Setting up and assisting with the production of Teams Live Events
  • Setup and running of AV presentations in Hall or Auditoriums
  • Setup and configuration of iPads for Staff and Shared iPads for Pupils
  • Troubleshooting any Staff or Pupil iPad issues.

Required Skills:

  • Have a keen interest in AV Support, i.e. setting up systems for video conferencing, assisting with running live events (Assemblies) via Microsoft Teams.
  • Approachable
  • Strong interest in IT

  • Good communication skills
  • Has ambition and eager to learn

Additional Information:

  • Salary £15,000 per annum
  • Monday-Friday 08:30 - 16:30

Future Career Progression:

  • Once on completion for the IT Apprenticeship there will be the chance to be kept on in a full time IT support role.
