St Andrews University are proud to be one of Scotland’s top Universities, understanding the importance of education and development of young people they have been hiring apprentices since 2012. Providing a supportive learning environment, this organisation has hired over 33 apprentices to date.

They are looking for a conscientious, creative, and driven individual to join their team as a Digital Workplace Apprentice.

Through a period of apprenticeship and training, you will learn and develop the necessary skills, expertise, and experience to provide assistance to the Business Relationship Team in IT Services.

 (1) Digital Marketing: support communications and between IT Services and the University community we support.

(2) Digital Services: assist in ensuring that University staff have awareness and understanding of IT fundamentals, such as email, calendaring, IT security, file storage, the Microsoft 365 productivity suite and other digital tools and services.

Key Responsibilities:

Under the supervision and direction of the Business Relationship Support Officer and Business Productivity Liaison Officer, develop a full understanding and an ability to perform key tasks and responsibilities as outlined below:

  • Digital Marketing
  1. Create social media content to support the delivery of new, changing and mainstay IT services.
  2. Schedule social media content through digital tools, e.g. Buffer, Hootsuite.
  3. Produce engaging media to support digital communications.
  4. Use content management platforms, such as Wordpress and T4.
  5. Create regular blog content for internal and externals.
  6. Support digital marketing campaigns to support IT events.
  7. Measure and report website performance using tools such as Google Analytics and Site Improve.
  • Digital Services
  1. Help maintain and generate content for Microsoft 365 user targeted communications, e.g. staff guides, IT news, IT staff bulletin, IT blogs, promotion of services, campaigns, etc.
  2. Support the Business Productivity Liaison Officer in preparing and delivering IT awareness sessions, departmental meetings and guidance films.
  3. Provide support to the Business Productivity Liaison Officer in the delivery of new staff IT overview inductions.
  4. Through the University’s call management system, respond to incidents and requests, providing guidance and support to the University community on use of digital tools.

Additional Information:

  • Salary £11,170 per annum increasing to £13,926 in year 2 of Apprenticeship
