Overview:

We are now looking for an eager candidate to join us as an apprentice.

You will have the opportunity to gain valuable skills, knowledge and experience as you complete an IT systems and networking - Azure Cloud Support Specialist - Level 3 Apprenticeship.

Distributed Support Engineer based in Birchwood, Warrington.

Main role:

To attend customer sites to provide support of IT hardware and software products, within the required Service Level Agreement (SLA).  Provide Technical Support to other staff in Managed Services and incident management of major system outages. 

You will work efficiently and proactively to deliver IT support service to a wide range of customers. 

Core Duties:

  • Ensure all training is completed relevant to apprenticeship requirements.
  • To replace PC’s, Laptops, Printers and associated peripherals.
  • Assist other engineers in the delivery of service to our customers.
  • Communicate with Call Administration and the Branch throughout the day to effectively manage all call details real time and gain full understanding of the customer’s requirements.
  • Complete part movements (RMA generation & physical movement) in a timely manner, returning items as directed by the Branch.
  • Achieve KPI target of 5 visits / fix’s per day.
  • Work a certain amount of overtime when required to do so.
  • Carry out any other reasonable as requested by your line management
  • Represent SCC in a professional and positive manner at all times

As well as:

  • Be compliant with management system policies, company policies & guidelines and take responsibility for health & safety in the workplace. 
  • Respond to any requests for information from your line management in a timely manner. 
  • Work a certain amount of overtime when required to do so.
  • Be familiar with all SCC polices and processes relevant to the role and/or your responsibilities to SCC and our customers.
  • Be familiar with customer policies and processes where applicable. 
  • Must be able to embrace new technologies and adapt to change.

What we are looking for / desired skills and personal qualities:

  • Interest of PC, laptop, printer & associated peripherals operation
  • Keen to learn Key Clients specific procedures
  • Attention to detail
  • Organised and responsible
  • Working on your own initiative
  • Being courteous to clients and co-workers 

Also, having the following will be highly beneficial to the position:

  • Be professional and presentable at all times. 
  • Have a full UK Driving Licence – As travelling will be key to the role. 

Entry requirements:

You need to have 5 GCSE’s:

  • Maths and English (or equivalents) at grades D or above
  • 3x GCSE’s grade A-C in any other subject 

You must not already have a qualification in a similar subject at the same level, or higher level than this apprenticeship. 

If you hold international equivalents of the above qualifications, at the time of your application you must be able to provide an official document that states how your international qualifications compare to the UK qualifications.

Working week:

Monday to Friday,

9:00am to 5:30pm

37.5 hours per week.

Future prospects:

If the apprentice successfully completes their apprenticeship, there is full time opportunities available.
