Founded in 1997, Turcan Connell have 23 partners and staff of around 220 lawyers and tax advisers offering a unique combination of skills and expertise covering tax; estate and succession planning; employment; dispute resolution; entrepreneurs, family and rural businesses; divorce and family; land and property; and charity law.

They are now looking to recruit a Modern Apprentice Marketing Administrator to join their Marketing team in their Edinburgh office on a twelve-month fixed-term contract.

Job overview

The purpose of the role is to provide full administrative support to the Marketing and Communications team.

Specifically, this role will provide administrative support for all events, both in-house, virtually, and external. Source branded and promotional products in support of events as required. Assist in the management of mailings lists and invitations for events and produce place cards, table plans, menus and literature packs as appropriate. Provide assistance in the management of stock levels for all literature and promotional items, ensuring that new or updated stock is ordered in a timely and cost effective manner.

Main duties and responsibilities

  • Provide full administrative support for all events, virtually, in-house and external
  • Source branded and promotional products in support of events as required
  • Assist in the management of mailings lists and invitations for events and produce place cards, table plans, menus and literature packs as appropriate
  • Stock control and promotional materials
  • Support with the stock levels of all literature and promotional items, ensuring you inform the team when new or updated stock is required to be ordered, in a timely and cost-effective manner
  • Ensuring the marketing area and storage is kept in a presentable and tidy manner
  • Provide general administrative duties as required to the team to include answering the department’s phones, arranging internal and external meetings and photocopying and printing
  • Update and track the teams online files relating to articles, adverts and other such materials and documents
  • Assist in the management of the enquiries inbox which includes contact forms, newsletter sign-ups and PR coverage and ensure they are tracked on the teams spreadsheet and are allocated to the appropriate team member across the firm

Required qualities, skills and experiences:

  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail is essential;
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral is required;
  • Strong administrative and organisational skills plus the ability to multi-task and prioritise workload is required;
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint;
  • Flexible attitude and ability to work as part of a team;
  • Experience in dealing with employees, and clients over the phone and face to face would be advantageous; and
  • Reliability with a business like attitude to the work involved.

Working week:

Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm (1.25 hours for lunch)

Future prospects

You will gain experience in an exciting workplace, expanding your knowledge and skills in all areas of admin whilst working towards a SCQF level 6 diploma in Business Administration.
