Overview:

We are looking to hire an apprentice to join our team in Aylesbury, Buckinghamshire.

This is an opportunity for an aspiring web developer with bags of enthusiasm to join a growing, Aylesbury-based business. 

You will assist the Website Designer and our clients; you will be responsible for the day-to-day tasks with a focus on building, hosting and managing WordPress-powered websites. 

Having a genuine interest and practical skills in the technical aspects of web development are essential. 

We also look for the ability to solve problems and contribute to web development. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assisting web designers and clients
  • Troubleshooting and maintenance of websites
  • Complete assigned tasks on time and record work
  • Contributing to project planning
  • Participating in weekly planning meetings

Desirable skills:

  • Practical skills in WordPress editing and customisations
  • Ability to work without close supervision
  • An understanding of HTML, CSS, JavaScript and PHP
  • An understanding of web hosting server technologies
  • General interest and some skills in API, system integration, programming etc.

Entry requirements:

  • 5 GCSE’s [especially English, Mathematics and a science or technology subject]
  • Other relevant qualifications and experience
  • Or an aptitude test with a focus on IT skills

You must not hold an existing qualification at the same or higher level than this apprenticeship in a similar subject. 

You may also have a combination of qualifications and experience which demonstrate the minimum foundation needed for the programme. In this instance you could still be considered for the programme. 

If you hold international equivalents of the above qualifications, at the time of your application you must be able to provide an official document that states how your international qualifications compare to the UK qualifications.

92% of QA Apprentices secure permanent employment after finishing their apprenticeship. Additionally, there may be opportunities to undertake further apprenticeship training as many of our programs offer on-going development tracks.
