Inspired Agency – Apprentice PHP Website Development Team Member

(level 3 Software development Standard)


Inspired are looking to increase the capacity of their Website Development Team and require a candidate who will grow into a talented Website Developer.

The candidate should have a strong interest in website development and have had some experience of making websites in their own time or in education.

Working as part of the PHP development team this is a fantastic opportunity for a candidate who’s ready to hit the ground running and learn as they go.

You will be developing and maintaining websites for a range of local national and international clients.

Day-to-day duties may include:

  • Working as part of an agile team to create HTML email campaigns for a wide range of national clients.
  • Develop front end web functionality for a variety of customers across a wide number of projects.
  • Work closely with the UX team to produce best in class web applications that deliver outstanding user experiences.
  • Using testing frameworks to quality check development work.
  • Updating security fixes and plugin updates on client’s websites.
  • Using content management systems to upload and manage web content.
  • Adding new functionality into existing sites.
  • Developing projects from scratch to a set of designs and a development specification.

Skills required:

  • Knowledge of HTML.
  • Knowledge of CSS.
  • Experience with PHP.
  • Experience with content management systems. (WordPress etc.)

  • A keen attention to detail.
  • An interest in new and emerging web technologies.
  • Self-motivated and able to work as part of a team and as an individual.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and come up with solutions under pressure.
  • Ability to communicate both in writing and verbally in a confident manner.
  • Detail orientated and organized. 

Entry requirements: 

You need to have 7 GCSE’s: 

  • English GCSE (or equivalents) at grade D or above 
  • 6x GCSE’s, including Maths, at grade A-C 

You must not already have a qualification in a similar subject at the same level, or higher level than this apprenticeship. 

If you hold international equivalents of the above qualifications, at the time of your application you must be able to provide an official document that states how your international qualifications compare to the UK qualifications.

Future prospects: 

The agency has a proven track record of employing successful apprentices.

A full time position will be considered for the right candidate following the successful completion of the apprenticeship.

Progress is based on a vacancy being available when the apprenticeship ends.
