Who you’ll be working for:

Fidelity Energy is a UK business energy broking company who find the best energy deals for our business clients from suppliers of gas and electricity. We stand out in the industry because of our stable and successful business model, in part created by our technological lead in energy quoting and lead management.  

What’s in it for you:

We are now searching for a candidate to join us at our Newbury office. You will have the opportunity to learn and progress your skills and knowledge using the latest cutting-edge technologies. In this role you will get exposure to C# on .NET Core, Salesforce, MS Azure cloud system, HTML, CSS, TypeScript, Blazor, Unit Testing, DevOps, SQL and source control using Git. 

You will be responsible for:

  • Involvement in the development of a cloud-based (Azure) web application 
  • Working on back-end systems for pricing quotations, electronic signatures, gas and electricity industry APIs, credit checking and many other systems
  • Assisting to develop and maintain the Salesforce system that underpins the business
  • Maintaining current solutions and making improvements
  • Assisting developers with testing and maintaining applications

You will need the following skills:

The ideal candidate will have a desire to get into software development in an interesting and dynamic business with an existing experienced development team. The candidate loves playing with computers, writing code, and learning new stuff. If that sounds like you then you will fit right in! We need people who can convert an interest in computing and software development into creating working, reliable software solutions for a business. 

Entry requirements:

The entry requirements for this programme are as follows:

7 GCSEs total:

  • English GCSE grade D or above
  • Other 6 GCSEs, including Maths, to be C or above

You must not hold an existing qualification at the same or higher level than this apprenticeship in a similar subject

You may also have a combination of qualifications and experience which demonstrate the minimum foundation needed for the programme. In this instance you could still be considered for the programme.

If you hold international equivalents of the above qualifications, at the time of your application you must be able to provide an official document that states how your international qualifications compare to the UK qualifications.

Working week:

37.5 hours per week

Future prospects:

The team consists of graduated apprentices, so we have a proven track record in taking someone with basic technical knowledge and creating experienced developers who work on a lot of leading-edge technology.

To be eligible for a Government funded apprenticeship you must have lived in the UK or European Economic Area (EEA) for the last 3 consecutive years.
