Overview:

QA are working closely with Stockport Homes to source a Data Officer. This role will support SHG’s strategic ambition to maximise value from data and knowledge-based systems held across the organisation. The role will be integrated with a MSc Digital and Technology Degree with a pathway in Data Analytics.

Full title / Position: MSC Data and Analytics Level 7 Degree Apprentice 

Responsibilities will include key Data management activities, data analysis and report development using various reporting tools, such as SSRS, SAP Business Objects and Power BI. 

Working alongside Data colleagues from across the Group on a variety of projects, this impactful role will also support the research, development, and delivery of key data related initiatives into Service.  

Main responsibilities the Data Development Officer:

  • Support the identification and consolidation of corporate sources of data into a single trusted dataset
  • Develop and maintain an agreed library of operational and strategic reports and provide expert guidance to colleagues on design standards
  • Support the design, implementation and maintenance of (MDM) master data management processes
  • Support the Design, build and operating of ETL processes and related schedules
  • Support data standards across SHG and identify issues which might prevent SHG from making maximum use of its information assets
  • Ensure full and accurate documentation on data processes is maintained at all times
  • Familiarise themselves with information needs of the organisation and adhere to the corporate approach to information and digital technology solutions
  • Design, develop and support data analysis & visualisations using appropriate tools and techniques
  • Support end users on the use of data visualisation tools so that they are better able to answer business questions
  • Undertake research and development into various Data solutions that support SHG’s technical, data and digital ambitions

What we are looking for:

Requirements the Data Development Officer must have.

  • Excellent SQL knowledge, understanding of T-SQL
  • Familiarity with data extract and data modelling principles
  • Understanding of data warehousing best practice and familiarity with ETL tools
  • Familiarity of modern data visualisation solutions such as PowerBI
  • Understanding of SSRS and other reporting tools
  • Degree level Technical Data qualification or relevant practical experience
  • Ability to create and maintain detailed documentation
  • Desire to continue professional development.
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to build customer relationships whilst modelling corporate Values

Entry Requirements:

Honours degree (2:2 or above) in an appropriate Computing, Technology or Engineering discipline

In order to attempt the EPA apprentices must have achieved GCSE Maths and English at Grade C – you may still enter the programme but will need to evidence Level 2 Maths and English qualification before starting the gateway and EPA

Non-standard entry:

Relevant qualifications and/or work experience will be taken into consideration where the applicant has the judged potential to benefit from the programme. Requests will be considered on an individual basis where appropriate.

Informal Interviews:

Informal interviews will be held where:

  • The suitability of a candidate is in doubt and further evidence is sought.
  • The candidate presents an unusual set of qualifications taken or pending, and an appropriate conditional offer needs to be determined.
  • Candidates may need advice on the appropriateness of the programme.

Note: Learners must not hold an existing qualification at the same or higher level than this apprenticeship in a similar subject

Salary:

£25,000 - £32,000 per annum.
