The VIP [Valves Instruments Plus] Group of companies consist of Valves Instruments Plus, VIP Plumbing Store, VIP Valves Online, VIP Boxing Ltd and VIP Bathrooms. 

Overview: 

This is an exciting role with the ability to make a real contribution towards the success of the VIP group of companies. 

We are looking for a dynamic individual to come into the company with fresh ideas and drive the growth of the group of companies through digital marketing techniques and channels. 

Job purpose:

  • To advertise VIP products from the group of companies via digital means.

Responsible to:

  • Marketing Manager.

Responsible for:

  • Online and digital advertising. 

The main duties will include:

  • Update and manage company website using Shopify, creating, and updating content on a regular basis
  • Create ongoing, interesting and unique content to increase engagement through our social media channels in particular Facebook, LinkedIn and Instagram, using organic and paid for activity. Whilst maintaining a relevant and current understanding of social media trends and platform capabilities.
  • Create written content and visual designs for email marketing activity.
  • Update company websites with new content, maximising SEO opportunities.
  • Create relevant and engaging content for online editorials, blogs, features and press releases.
  • Conduct regular competitor analysis and market research.
  • Produce reports to demonstrate the effectiveness of individual campaigns and make informed suggestions to improve campaign performance.

Other objectives include:

  • Emailing & chasing up existing Telesales quotes.
  • Contacting current spending customers to confirm they are happy with the services VIP are providing and to see if we can do any more business.
  • Mailing of intro emails and brochure packs when required - following up and adding information to CRM.
  • Follow-ups of mailshots and LinkedIn marketing, including contacting customers who have responded and updating all relevant customer info on CRM.
  • Sourcing new customers – follow up and measure responses.
  • Updating Opera database with up-to-date information gained during calls.
  • Addition of new contacts, phone numbers, and email addresses etc.
  • Adding projects sourced with information gained including PM/CM/Eng etc, next chase or next decision date.
  • Adding details on customers/contacts such as competition (where they currently buy from,) hobbies etc. 

The above is not an exhaustive list of duties and you will be expected to perform different tasks as necessitated by your changing role within the organisation and the overall business objectives of the organisation. 

Desired skills and qualities: 

  • Commercially minded understanding the need for ROI 
  • Highly analytical and detail oriented 
  • Customer focussed 
  • Basic knowledge and interest in videography and photography, alongside accompanying editing software, would be beneficial 

Entry requirements: 

Standard Entry

  • To be eligible to study for a degree, typically candidates will have achieved grade C or above in at least five GCSEs, and at least two A-levels passes or any equivalent Level 3 qualifications.
  • Any Level 3 Apprenticeship

Non-standard Entry with work experience

  • Equivalent work experience (typically 2 years relevant experience at an appropriate level) – candidates may have previously been in a digital marketer role or be able to demonstrate a real passion and personal experience in digital marketing.
  • Relevant professional qualifications and/or work experience will be taken into consideration where the applicant has the judged potential to benefit from the programme, allowing for contextualized applications. The nature of an applicant’s work experience is as important if not more so than the duration of that experience. The experience could include Digital and Marketing Analysts, Digital Marketing Executives, Digital Marketing Campaign Managers, Social Media Specialists, Content Marketing Executives, Digital Producers and Pay Per Click Analysts.

Informal Interviews

Informal interviews may be held by academic/ admissions staff where:

  • The suitability of a candidate is in doubt and further evidence is sought.
  • The candidate presents an unusual set of qualifications taken or pending, and an appropriate conditional offer needs to be determined.
  • Candidates may need advice on the appropriateness of the programme.

Working week:

Monday - Friday, 8:30am - 5pm / 37.5hrs a week.

Salary:

£16,000 - £18,000 per annum.

Future prospects:

92% of QA Apprentices secure permanent employment after finishing their apprenticeship.  Additionally, there may be opportunities to undertake further apprenticeship training as many of our programs offer on-going development tracks.
