Overview:

We are now looking for an eager candidate to join us as an apprentice. 

You will have the opportunity to gain valuable skills, knowledge and experience as you complete a Data Analyst - Level 4 Apprenticeship. 

The Data Apprentice will support a range of various data and analytics activities across Marie Curie’s Insights, Analytics & Data Team. 

The Data Apprentice will gain broad experience by rotating through the team and working in disciplines including, but not limited to, Business Analysis, Data Engineering and Visualisation Development.

At the end of the program the Data Apprentice will have gained a working knowledge of database technologies such as SQL and Azure, visualisation technologies like Power BI and of basic Scrum/Agile working principles. 

Marie Curie utilises an enterprise level Data Warehousing solution which will be at the core of the Data Apprentice’s activities.

Can be office - 89 Albert Embankment, London, SE1 7TP or  / remote based.

Accountabilities (Key duties & responsibilities) 

  • Will vary as the Data Apprentice rotates to support various functions within the Insights, Analytics & Data Team 
  • The Data Apprentice will be expected to pick up, manage and deliver specific pieces of work across the data and analytics space (for example: triaging tickets, documenting requirements, basic data engineering tasks, building training materials, data mining, basic report generation) 
  • The Data Apprentice will be expected to support members of the Insights, Analytics & Data Team in their activities, including, but not limited to, Business Analysts, Data Engineers and Visualisation Developers 
  • The Data Apprentice will support the operations of the Insights, Analytics & Data Team 
  • Actively participate in Agile development practices, team meetings, business partner engagements, BI community workshops/trainings and Tech Clinics

Desirable skills:

  • Good verbal and written communication skills 
  • Technology literate  
  • Good MS Excel (or equivalent) skills 
  • An understanding of databases  
  • Knowledge of computing and/or a programming language

  • Willingness to learn 
  • Exhibits a “can do” attitude 
  • Passionate about the value of Data and Analytics 

Entry requirements:

Standard entry:

  • Level 3 qualification (apprenticeship/A-levels/BTEC, etc)
  • OR equivalent work experience (typically two years in a relevant role)

Plus:

  • 5 GCSE's, including English and Maths at Grade 4 (C) or above
  • Experience with using Excel and Microsoft products (or similar)

Working week:

35hrs a week.
